Me: “I get to believe in whatever?” Sponsor: “Yes.”
Me: “Really?!?”
Sponsor: “Yes.”
Me: “But I don’t know what to believe in.” Sponsor: “Start by believing that I believe – in you, and your ability to do this sobriety thing.” And in the beginning, that was all I had and all I needed to put one foot in front of the other, one day at a time.
